Hi everybody,

I had been away for some time, and noticed that the old posts disappeared. I even had to re-register. Anyway, I was gone because I followed an advertising link to Evony. It was so addictive, it totally consumed me for 10 months. Now, since I was permanently banned there for running bots I am back. Boo hoo!

Anyway, does anybody know what happened to AI and METAbrain? Have there been new developments? Or has the project been shelved?

I remember there had been plans to incorporate movement control.

Sorry, for asking those questions, I was totally out of the loops. This much I know is that METAbolt has a new architecture and can have addons and plugins.

My main topic of interest is AIML. I am not a programmer, but I do write AIML sets. Last time there was a bug that disabled <that> and <topic> tags, and a few other issues. I could not create advanced AIML sets, so I got disheartened and allowed myself be seduced by Evony.

If this had been overcome, I believe I will resume my efforts on furthering the cause of AI Singularity. Well, my fringe 2 cents anyway. BigGrin

Hi Agent,

It's good to have you back. You won't do the same in SL and get banned from there too will you???

We lost the old forums due to a server crash so this is a new one.

Several users had decided to develop a plugin that will incorporate both what you have mentioned and also RLV. But nothing has happened apart from Wolfspirit's post releasing the plugin project he had developed. I beleive it is not finished but good enough to start anyone wishing to complete it:

I would prefer if the plugin was called something other than RLV as it sounds silly to have RLV on a text client. But then this is only my opinion!

Maybe someone would like to pick Wolfspirit's project up and carry it forward and you can assist them?

Many thanks Luke. Alas Wolfspirit's project is well above my programming ability.

I still have May 2009 version and the Metabrain too. If I install the newest version, will Metabrain still work? Conversations without <that> are stilted, but still fun.

I suppose the old version will not even rez avatars anymore.

PS. There is a very little chance of the SL banning me for use of bots. Bots are not against their TOS. Bots are not allowed on Evony at all. But I found it impossible to play without a bot at later stages of the game. I cannot spend 14 hours each and every day on a game...

PSS. Downloaded new METAbrain and my eyes filled with nostalgic tears, when I saw you added teleport and movement file. My tiny contribution to the project. I hope I can improve on it.

Of course it will work! Remove the version you have. Then goto "c:\program files" and delete the METAbotl folder. Then download and install the new version.

You should make AIML files which people might find usefull and post them here. Infact post a message if you want to offer a service helping (free or paid) people optimise the AI for customer services etc.

I would be happy to discuss any and all AIML issues. Perhaps this can be a topic for discussing it.

I was testing AIML files on pandorabots, and have made a greatly improved teleport_movement AIML. It had been previously tested in SL. Here it is:

Much of categories I picked from conversation logs at a nudist beach (from which I was banned for botting). Perhaps we could make a protest demonstration with placards - HUMAN RIGHT FOR BOTS! - I AM A PERSON NOT JUST A BOT etc... Laugh

The file deal with requests to move, to come somewhere, to give teleport etc.

It also deals with misrezzing.

It gives the slurl you set in settings file.


Great fun on pandorabots: <that>, <topic>, set and get all work. Not sure if substitutions work, also their library files are from 2003, and METAbrain AIML library is more advances mostly updated in 2007 and some files even younger. Is there a way to upload files for sharing to this site? But it is possible to upload your own files - i.e. MATAbrain AIML library instead.

If we could make an interface for METAbolt and pandorabots (like SL bot) we can bypass a bug in METAbrain that prevents advanced AIML features from working.

Very interesting Agent. I will include your v4 movement file in the next release. You can compress (zip/rar) aiml files and upload them with your posts here by using the "Attach" button at the top right hand corner of your post.

Pandora is not a suitable solution as users will need to become members and then maintain their aiml via the Pandora web site. That will put many people off. Plus we will have no control over the libraries i.e. we woudn't be able update them centraly etc.

The problem is not in METAbrain but in aimlbot.dll which has several bugs and also incomplete features. As Nicolas (the project editor) of aimlbot seems to have abandoned the project I am looking for C# developers which can fork it with our help and guidance. You can perhaps work with such an individual in getting the librarires/dictionaries up to scratch. Trust me, the technology we have here is far better and advanced than any other AIML interpretation out there...it just needs some work to get it there. I will hopefully have more time to spend in this area hopefully in a few versions time.
