I love to keep logs of my chats and IMs, especially so I can go back a week and notecard an event for someone or just remember details that I have forgotten. With the SL Viewer and Emerald logs, I can search the log for an entire month or even a year or more for certain keywords and find the information I want easily.

In Metabolt, the logs are kept in hundreds of little daily session files with huge long names.

Wouldn't it be more consistent with the other viewers just to append each day's chat and IM sessions to the one already in process, and include a complete date and time stamp on each line (as an option, if you like). Then we can use an editor to integrate your files with the standard viewer files, or just be able to review more than one day at a time.

(I'm new to the forum, so accept my apologies if this request has already been discussed to death under another topic).

This is an excellent suggestion. But if the logfiles aren't made continuous, at least they should be renamed. The dates should be year-month-day (YYYY-MM-DD) to allow better sorting.

A solution for this has been provided in V 0.9.30.0

A new feature called "Chat/IM Log Manager" under the Logs menu provides the functionality required.
