Hi Emdec,
If you have followed the instructions (
http://www.metabolt.net/metawiki/EnableMETAbrain.ashx
) then it means it's set-up. Anyone that talks to your avatar via IM will get a response from METAbolt METAbrain/AI...
After you place the "aiml" and "config" files which is in the ZIP file you have downloaded, you can customise the avatar behaviour/language by changing the AIML files located under the "aiml" folder. Almost any aiml fiel you can find on the internet should work. You also customise the identity and other information about the avatar by changing the settinns of the Settings.xml file found under the "config" file.
That's it! I hope this helps :)

AIML is a standard and you can find lots of information/help on it on the internet. The site below is a good one to start from:
http://www.alicebot.org/aiml.html
You can also find more information from here:

Tks for the help.
Is it possible to make metabolt say something on a local chat channel as a result of an input IM ?
thereby interacting with an object.

Controlling METAbolt via METAbrain would require development of a plugin which would be quite involved and not easy to develop. However METAbolt can be easily controlled via LSL commands:

Thanks for the info.
I have managed to get an object to interface with metabolt and make it say something in local chat.
You mentioned that you intend to add new commands in the future.
It would be great if you could instruct it to tp to a position (already available) and then to sit on the nearest scripted object or one named in the script (easier I imagine - but so flexible).
The object being to make it dance on a particular poseball.
Can you say what others you have in mind ?

We will not be providing any further fucntionality in core METAbolt from now on. Grogan (SL name: Grogan Knibber) has been developing a plugin which provides many features in this area. It should be available for release soon and no doubt it will be announced on these forums when it is released. Watch this space.
