Has there been any thing about this with the OpenGL stuff you said was probably causing this? I've tried all manner of nVidia drivers and settings and nothing affects it on my end. So I was wondering the openmv stuff has been updated or anything.

Not to my knowledge :( I have absolutely no idea what is causing this... :(

Well FWIW, the latest version of Metabolt (and Radegast 2.4) still have the white text on the HUD problem.

For reference, I tried everything I could think of to get rid of the nVidia Control Panel and it doesn't appear possible. On Windows 7 it installs as part of both the default driver pack that came with my computer and the nVidia downloaded updates. I can remove the nVidia Control Panel from Windows Control Panel but that has no effect on how the driver behaves with the white text on 3D HUD problem.

Also, I notice lately that after a few restarts of Metabolt, the white text itself will virtually disappear and become thin and almost transparent. Completely unviewable on the HUD.

I dreamed up a workaround for the white text on Tiny Empires HUD problem. Locate the Tiny Empires main HUD graphic in your Metabolt cache. I did this by clearing the cache then using the HUD first thing. That will leave about 10 graphics in the cache folder instead of 100's -- several of them will be for the tabs and clock -- one will be for the main graphic. Note that they won't have file extensions so you have to use something like XnView (awesome proggie) which can display them intelligently. Change the brightness/contrast on the graphic to darker + more contrast. Save the graphic in place (again, XnView will not add an extension which is cool). Open the HUD. Ta da! A dark background that you can see with the silly white text.
