You can enable spell checking in public chat, private IMs and group IMs from the Application/Preferences/Spelling menu option in METAbolt. The spell check will be activated each time you type your message and hit the ENTER key on your keyboard or the SEND button next to the message area.
By default spelling dictionaries are provided for the languages below:
1. German (DE)
2. English (GB(
3. English (US)
4. Spanish (ES)
5. French (FR)
6. Italian (IT)
7. Dutch (NL)
8. Portuguese (BR)
9. Portuguese (PT)
10. Turkish (TR)
METAbolt uses the OpenOffice spell checker dictionaries. If the language you need is not covered you can include it by downloading (from the link below) the ".aff" and ".dic" files for that language in to your
Data Dir folder:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/language-tools/Upon re-start of METAbolt the newly added language will be available in the METAbolt spellchecker language options.

The naming of the ".aff" and ".dic" file/s you download must be in the following format:
2 letter language code + underscore + 2 letter country code
examples:
en_US (American English)
en_GB (British English)
en_AU (Australian English)
etc...
