METAbolt Accessibility features for Second Life and OpenSIM based Grids¶
The METAbolt application is fully accessibile as well as compliant with "accessibility client applications" such as JAWS.
Menu and button accelerators can be displayed by clicking on the "Alt" key once. Clicking on the "Alt" key a second time will hide them.
All objects, menus and windows are further exposed to accessility client applications with logical/functional names where some also have descriptions.
Menu Shortcuts
Application Menu
Ctrl+P > Application/Preferences
Ctrl+Shit+C > Close METAbolt application
World Menu
Ctrl+W > Set avatar away/not away
Ctrl+B > Set avatar busy/unbusy
Ctrl+F > Fall on face/get up (animation)
Ctrl+H > Teleport home
Ctrl+R > Rebake avatar
Ctrl+L > Displays the About Land window
Tools menu
Ctrl+T > Display the Teleport window
Ctrl+M > Display the Large Map window
Ctrl+O > Display the Object Manager window
Ctrl+E > Display the Script Manager window
Ctrl+Alt+Y > Display METAplayer
Help menu
Ctrl+Y > Displays the METAbolt support site (METAforums)
General Shortcuts
Chat screen
Typing into the chat input box at the bottom of the screen and:
1. hitting the ENTER key will SAY your input in public chat
2. hitting Ctrl+ENTER will SHOUT your input
3. Hitting Ctrl+Shift+Enter will WHISPER your input
4. When voice is connected keeping the F3 button pressed will act as a "push to talk" button. Releasing it will mute the MIC.
Radar Toolbar
Selecting an avatar from the radar list and using the following shortcuts will perform the stated function below:
CTRL+ALT+I : Start an IM session
CTRL+ALT+P : Display the avatar profile
CTRL+ALT+A : Display the avatar attachments list
CTRL+ALT+F : Send friendship invite
CTRL+ALT+T : Turn towards the selected avatar
CTRL+ALT+W : Follow/un-follow the selected avatar
CTRL+ALT+G : Go (walk) to the selected avatar
CTRL+ALT+E : Freeze the selected avatar (requires land owner priviledges)
CTRL+ALT+J : Eject the selected avatar (requires land owner priviledges)
CTRL+ALT+B : Ban the selected avatar (requires land owner priviledges)
Private IM and Group IM screens¶
Typing your comment and hitting the ENTER key will send your message
Pressing Alt+X will close the Private/Group IM screen
Fonts
The font size of public chat and private/group IM windows can be changed from the General/Layout tab under the Application/Preferences menu.
You also have the option of chosing between classic and modern chat/im layout screens from the same tab.
Sounds
Sounds for notifications and alerts can be activated via the "Play sound on notification/alerts" option on the TEXT tab under the Application/Preferences menu option.
Individual sounds (listed below) can be switched on/off from the General/Sounds tab under the Application/Preferences menu:
Play sound when Friend online
Play sound when Friend offline
Play sound when IM received
Play sound when Group IM received
Play sound when Group Notice received
Play sound when Inventory Item received
Play sound when payments are received
