Movement for bots
Give life to your bot/s
METAnomy is a plug-in which enables you to set-up rotas that give a bot movement. METAnomy offers a rich set of options to suit most requirmeents. Bare in mind that this is an initial release for a very complex subject.
IT IS EXPERIMENTAL at this stage.
METAnomy does have an "entry level" collision detection and avoidance logic i.e. it can manouver around small objects but not large ones like walls and buildings etc. This area will be improved in future releases as well as addition of various other logic.
How does it work?
The concept is very simple and the plug-in itself is very intuitive. You simply select the actions (one by one) you require and enter them in the sequence of movement which you require. You can then save it as a rota file so that you don't have to enter the same movements over and over again.
What could this possibly be usefull for?
Well that's a matter of perspective an taste. Here are a few areas I can think of:
1. Having fun :)
2. Having "model bots" cover a larger area
3. Getting "model bots" automated e.g. automated catwalks etc.
4. "Security bots" performing post based activities
5. Automated tasks which you don't want to carry out manually
6. Creating a "guide bot" that walks around explaining and showing things
7. Creating a bot that is active and not just standing around in your shop/home
Using LSL to control METAnomy
It is possible to control METAnomy via the LSL interface to load a rota file, start and stop the bot. The format of the commands you send MUST be like below:
ned49b54-325d-123a-x33m|MD5'ed METAbolt Password|COMMAND|PARAMETER (if applicable...see below list of available commands)
LOADFILE: Using this command you can specify the rota file METAnomy should load. If the bot is already in movement it will be stopped and the specified file will be loaded. Note that the bot will not be automatically started. You are required to start it.
command example: ned49b54-325d-123a-x33m|MD5'ed METAbolt Password|LOADFILE|MyBotRota.txt
STOPMBOT: This will stop/pause the bot
command example: ned49b54-325d-123a-x33m|MD5'ed METAbolt Password|STOPMBOT
STARTMBOT: This will start the bot
command example: ned49b54-325d-123a-x33m|MD5'ed METAbolt Password|STARTMBOT

If you will be using the LOADFILE command you must create a folder called "Rotas" under the METAbolt "Data Dir" (roaming folder) and place the rota files in there. If you don't know how to find the Data Dir click here.

Installation of the METAnomy plug-in
1. Unzip the METAnomy.ZIP file
2. Copy the METAnomy.exe into the "Extensions" folder in the Data Dir (User roaming folder). If you don't know where this folder is, go into About METAbolt from the "Help" menu in METAbolt and you will find it there.
3. Log into SL
4. Select the "METAnomy" menu option under the "Plugins" menu in METAbolt
NOTE: The above steps apply to installing any plugin and not just METAnomy.

INFORMATION and T&Cs¶
Plugins are not a part of the METAbolt application. They run within METAbolt when they are started and for as long as they are running. If a plugin e.g. METAnomy is running and you close it down, METAnomy's whole operation will stop and you will need to retstart it and set it up to continue what it was doing.
