Just updated version and found that on the chat page the avatar list keeps blanking then re-drawing repetitively, every few seconds, it never completes the redraw befor a new refresh starts, so you cant see all avis in the area.

Yes that's a new feature that updates Avs in scope every 10 secs. How many Avs are there on the list roughly...do you know? Did you try relogging?

[Edit] Anyhow, I have increased the refresh rate for the radar from 10 secs to 1 minute. This will help on busy SIMs and slow connections. Remove the METAbolt you have from "Add/Remove Programs" and download again fro mthe web site pls and you should be OK. Let me know how you get on pls.

Thanks Luke, that has helped so the full list (only 29 avis in this case) now makes it through).

Further to this, When the Avi list is refreshed, if the object list is shown at the same tim it appears to refresh at the same time. Each time the Object list refreshes it finds new objects (which are actually duplicates of objects already in the list, (same Id etc) so the list grows and grows with duplicate objects - quickly. This causes the list to be difficult to navigate as the listindex keeps being lost as the list keeps moving, and if an object is selected, and the list is left alone, the listindex will soon be lost so, if you were working with an object and come back and click an action you may be now on the wrong object - and the right one can be difficult to find. - especially if the list keeps squirming. Over 10 mins the object list grew from 850 to 950 with duplicates.

That's very interesting Tiller. That will eventually cause a crash...which explains why Trooper is having a problem. Weird cos there is a duplicate check before anything is added. Seems like it is not working properly. Sounds like yet another MS bug or SL is changing something each time and MS thinks it's a new object and adds it!

I will take the radar feature out for now and investigate what's happening and put it back in the future. So version 0.45 will be coming up in the next 30 mins. Thanks for this info Tiller it has been great help.

Thanks Luke, stability has returned, well done. I was thinking... dangerous... It may be useful to put avatar and object refresh at the users control.... I thought if a manual refresh button and clear button was added, and put a refresh rate parameter in the user preferences. If you teleport then say 200M the object list could then be cleared as it gets scrambled due to objects changing their distance - I know this causes duplicates. I will test this version a bit more on this issue. Cheers, keep up the good workHappy
