AS OF VERSION 0.9.24.0 TWITTER SUPPORT HAS BEEN REMOVED FROM METABOLT
Twitter support can be activated via the preferences window (Application/Preferences menu at the top left hand corner of METAbolt):
1. Select the "Text" tab on the right hand side
2. Under "Relay IMs to Tweeter" check the "Enable Tweeter" checkbox
3. Enter your Twitter username and password into the relevant boxes to the right of the checkbox
4. If you want your IMs (the ones you receive) to be added as Tweets leave the option below the checkbox as "Add". Alternatively select the "Direct" option and enter the recipients Twitter name in the "Tweeter name" box
5. Click the "Apply" and then the "OK" buttons
That's it.
Notes:
For those of you who are unfamiliar with Twitter. "Direct" messages are sent to another Twitter user directly.
Tweet messages "Add option" will send all the IMs you receive as tweets to your Twitter account which means they will appear as normal tweets.
If you are on Facebook or MySpace, Twitter can be embedded into your pages!
You can also tweet public chat if you set the "Relay public chat too" option.
